First Colorwork Cowl Class taught by Amy Gallmeyer

This introductory class to stranded knitting will give you the tools to choose pleasing color combinations. You will learn how to speed swatch to determine gauge and to get a sense of how the colors selected work together. Yarn management and floattension will be covered as well as chart reading and working in the round.

Prerequisites: The student must be able to cast on, knit, purl and bind off as well as have some previous experience knitting and completing a project.

Skills Taught: Picking colors for colorwork, speed swatching, stranded knitting, chart reading and working in the round.

Dates and times: Tuesday, October 6, 13, and 20 from 2p-4p.

Materials: To be purchased at GarenHuis Yarn Studio.
 First Colorwork Cowl by Brooklyn Tweed.
 Worsted weight yarn, see pattern for quantity.
 A 16 inch circular and 24 inch circular needle in a size that meets gauge.
 Stitch marker and tapestry needle.
 Colorwheel - optional.
