
Finishing Workshop class
The pieces have been knitted .The pattern says weave in ends and finish - huh? No more explanation than that, now what? The Finishing workshop is for you! Bring the completed pieces to the workshop and learn how to put it all together like a pro.
Prerequisites: This class is for the intermediate knitter who has alreaddy completed projects in the past but wants to polish their finishing skills.
Skills Taught: Finishing techniques.
Dates: Saturdays, April 19 & 26 from 1pm-3pm
Techniques Covered: Weaving in ends and blocking instruction, seaming, picking up stitches for bands/edges
To bring to class:
- Knitting tool kit: scissors, tapestry needle, pins, tape measure, small amount of yarn from stash and completed swatches from homework
Homework: Make 2 swatches in garter stitch using a light colored worsted weight yarn and US 7 or 8 needles. Cast on 14 stitches and work in garter for 4 inches and bind off. Make eight more swatches, this time in stockinette using a light colored worsted weight yarn and US 7 or 8 needles. Again, cast on 14 stitches and work in stockinette for 4 inches and bind off. Block all ten swatches.
